Dr. Washton offers a variety of small private group sessions that meet the special needs of executives and professionals.
What are the benefits of group therapy?
These groups provide instant access to a ready-made peer support network of other high-functioning men and women grappling with similar issues. Group therapy can accelerate therapeutic progress and amplify the benefits of other types of treatment such as individual therapy provided here or elsewhere.
You can attend group sessions 1-3 times per week, based on your need for structure and support. Groups are limited to 6-8 members. There are groups that focus on abstinence and others that focus on moderate drinking and harm reduction.
Alcohol Moderation Group
This group gives participants the tools they need to reduce their alcohol intake, consistently manage their drinking within safer limits, and avoid the negative consequences of over-drinking. Click here to learn more.
The primary goals of this group are to (a) support total abstinence from alcohol and other substances, (b) improve coping and stress-management skills, and (c) work through underlying issues that continue to be the silent generators of relapse. To find out whether abstinence is the right course for you, schedule a consultation with Dr. Washton.
